4. The House Next Door

The movie starts with a series of incidents of a happy life of mom and a daughter back in 1934.
At present in 2016, Dr. Krishnakanth Acharya/ Krish, a successful brain surgeon, and his wife Lakshmi, live peacefully in their beautiful house under the mountains in Rosina Valley.

Their perfect life together is now disturbed after a family moves into the house next door where the Jennifer D'Costa / Jenny is a troubled teenager and neighbour of Krish and Lakshmi.

A two-year-old girl (Pihu), who gets trapped inside her house with no way to escape. Her father, Gaurav has left for Kolkata for a conference.

Her mother, Puja has committed suicide by an overdose of sleeping pills after a fight with Gaurav, and her face and hands are bruised indicating domestic violence, leaving a suicide note on the bedroom mirror, saying that she would've killed Pihu too, but couldn't bring herself to do it. Puja was upset because Gaurav had come late for Pihu's birthday party. Moreover, she suspected him of having an affair with her friend, Meera.
